The Tutors
Karuna Karasulas is of Kai Tahu, Ngati Porou and British descent. She has been involved with and passionate about waiata Maori since childhood. She is currently a member of Te Whanau o Onuku whanau group and has in the past been a member of various kapa haka, including completing a degree in Maori performing arts at Te Wananga Whare Tapere o Takitimu. She has 2 children whose first language is te reo Maori; her hope is that each person who learns a little more, and becomes a little more comfortable with tikanga Maori will enhance the world in which they are growing up. Karuna is delighted to work with the talented Lisa Tui to offer you some of the beautiful and useful poetry from our heritage and today.

Lisa Tui Bainbridge (Tainui, Ngati Kahungunu) has taught singing and drama for over ten years and brings a wealth of experience as a tutor of adults and young people.
